Compost Fertilizer
Compost fertilizer is, by far, the easiest fertilizer for an organic rose garden that you will find. Comprised of dead leaves, leftover food, and other biodegradable materials, a compost pile is the easiest way for anyone to create their own organic fertilizer. Your organic rose garden will thank you for your care when you spread this rich mixture around its roots.
Making compost is simple. For an average sized organic rose garden, you will need a compost pile that is roughly three feet by three feet. To begin the composting process, gather all of your lawn clippings together in an area free of combustible materials. The reason for this, is that compost makes its own heat, which breaks the ingredients down into useable fertilizer for your organic rose garden.
Once you have a good sized pile of clippings (grass, leaves, etc.), be sure to start putting your kitchen scraps in with them as well. Leftover food contains nitrogen, which is what begins the composting process. These products are great, quick, alternatives to chemical fertilizers; but, unlike compost which is free, they can be rather expensive. It is important to remember, if you choose to use any type of animal waste as fertilizer in your organic rose garden, be sure that small children and animals stay away. It can contain bacteria which would be harmful to your children.
